ConsimWorld 2008: Year in Review
2008 is over. For all the economic doom and gloom as of late that we fear may have some negative repercussions for our beloved hobby, 2008 was a good year for ConsimWorld. First of all, our member base and web traffic continues to grow year-over-year, including attendance at our annual event, CSW Expo. While the increased rigors of my "day job" has slowed newsdesk postings as of late (we still have a backlog of news stories to clear), we did manage to post 350 news stories in 2008. We also now have more than one thousand active email news subscribers via feedblitz. We also welcomed several new publishers to CSW this year, and we have rolled out our all-new Social Networking site which has grown to 1,000+ members.
Our 2009 plan is maintain our focus while improving our level of service. For starters, we are going to launch an all-new member helpdesk (launching shortly!) in support of CSW-related services. We are also going to improve our registration process for new members. We also will look to update our blogging software that drives this newsdesk, which should serve the added advantage of eliminating comment spam. We do have several other ideas in mind, but we will announce these as they become available.
And last but not least, we are almost ready to flip the switch on our CSW Expo 2009 web site...the site has been updated just shy of launching online registration. We are also actively working on our premier Consim Press release, Age of Bismarck, and expect to ship in 2009. We are presently in pre-production mode getting artwork ready to help drum up more preorders.
So, folks, 2008 is now a wrap. We've had to say goodbye to some great gamers and all-around people, including Gary Gygax, John Spalding and most recently, Linden Moore. We are really going to miss these guys.
So now you know some of the things we have in store for 2009.
Do you have any consim-related New Year's Resolutions to share?

Unwrap the shrink and play more games. I also intend to delve into OCS this year.

My resolution for 2009 is to actually win at a wargame, just one time, that's all I ask.

My resolution to wargame is to step steeper into ATS world. I have many of the series games but yet hard to find the time to delve into them.

I am studying War in the Pacific by DG and actually
starting to play the scenarios. My resolution is to
learn this beast and at least to play the Guadacanal
mini-campaign and start a full Campaign game!
I live in Salem, OR if there are other gamers so
insanely inclined... give me a ring.
PS The monster lives on an entire wall of my game
room and needs an entire 4x8 sheet of plywood for it's
charts!
