GREAT WAR AT SEA Goes Full Steam Ahead

Avalanche Press has created a real niche when it comes to doing battle at sea. Not only was the long anticipated GREAT WAR AT SEA, VOLUME 2 released at ORIGINS this past July, but it was accompanied by a surprise release entitled, "U.S. NAVY PLAN ORANGE," as well, based on the same, highly-playable game system. THE GREAT WAR AT SEA, VOLUME 2, is a Operational and Tactical level game of World War I Naval operations in the North and Baltic Sea. Every ship that fought in those seas for England, Germany, Russia, Sweden, and France is provided along with some U.S., Japanese, and Brazillian units. Single ship counters for BB's, BC's, CA's and many CL's. DD's are portrayed in two, three, and four ship squadrons. Even early naval aviation is included with biplanes and Zeppelins!

U.S. NAVY PLAN ORANGE, is a Operational and Tactical level game of the hypothetical naval war that planners on both sides of the Pacific envisioned happening between 1920 and 1936. NPO takes place in 1930, and features some of the great unbuilt ships of both nations: the South Dakotas with their mighty 12 16" guns, the Tosa and Kaga BC/BBs with their high speed and heavy hitting power. Also here for the first time is early strike capable naval avaiation including the Carrier Zeppelins Akron and Macon. Single ship counters for BB's, BC's, CA's and many CL's. DD's are portrayed in two, three, and four ship squadrons. U.S. NAVY PLAN ORANGE, utilizes the GREAT WAR AT SEA system and in completely compatable with it.
