GAZALA Follows Upon Heels of CRUSADER

Following up on the heels of The Gamers' successful Standard Combat Series (SCS) release, CRUSADER, Dean Essig continues the series focus in the Mediterranean. GAZALA represents the next SCS title from The Gamers, with a special prepublication now available.

GAZALA will represent a step up in complexity from CRUSADER, as a response to players who called for more detail than CRUSADER provided. Those who are familiar with MiH's highly-acclaimed TRIUMPHANT FOX (sold out) should find GAZALA to be an exciting alternative for a less detailed, highly-playable game covering this battle.

More About Gazala
At the end of May, 1942, Rommel faced the Commonwealth just west of Tobruk. The Allied army had created the most extensive works yet seen in the desert in an attempt to protect their exposed positions. Rommel decided to hook around this line by moving deeply into the desert. The result (a few weeks later) was the fall of Tobruk into Axis hands for the first time since January, 1941 and the retreat of the Allied army into Egypt.

GAZALA uses a more detailed scale than CRUSADER and a greater map area (2 maps) to allow more free-wheeling maneuver. The game places more emphasis on supply than CRUSADER. Players move supply units toward their forces to keep their operations running and expend them to place formations into attack supply. To add more planning to their operations and to allow some reaction to enemy moves, a Reserve Mode is available.
