New from Decision Games. Hurtgen: Hell’s Forest is a grand-tactical simulation of that enormous campaign. The 2,240 counters in the game represent almost every formation, at company and battalion levels, which fought in the battle, including US, German, British, and even Belgian units. Infantry, armor, anti-tank, reconnaissance, engineer, assault gun, howitzer, rocket, parachute, ranger, glider, and headquarters units are all fully represented in the counter-mix. The two map sections are an accurate representation of the battle area and were compiled from 1944 German staff maps and 1943-1944 US Army map sources. This is the latest entry in the Grand Operational Simulation Series (which began with Wacht am Rhein), and presents further refinements to the combat, artillery and supply subsystems in order to better depict tactical and operational warfare at this scale. New from Decision Games. Wacht Am Rhein, 2012 Edition is a grand-tactical simulation of that Battle of the Bulge. This 2012 edition of Wacht am Rhein presents modifications to the combat, artillery and supply systems of the first edition in order to better depict tactical and operational warfare. For example, an “exploitation mode” has been added in order to allow mechanized units to take advantage of breakthroughs in the enemy line. Other changes include the addition of “vantage points,” which function as high ground, enabling units to spot more effectively for artillery, as well as “constricted terrain,” which represents the channeling caused by steep gullies and ravines. Death Ride Salerno: 16th Panzer Expansion
New from Grognard Simulations. Death Ride Salerno: 16th Panzer Expansion is the third installment in the Death Ride Salerno series. This game builds on the first two and adds in elements of the British X Corps, providing the forces that fought in the northern part of the battlefield. The main focus of this area is the battle for Battipaglia. The British 201st Guards Brigade ran into stiff German resistance as they got into the outskirts of the town. The British 56th Infantry Division makes contact with elements of the 16th Panzer and 15th Panzer Grenadier Divisions. Enhancements include a Naval Gunfire Support chart to help organize the naval gunfire ships and introduce some supply issues for them. Price: $74. Note: This is an expansion. Ownership of Death Ride: Salerno is required to play.
