This Deluxe Version features a Mounted Map and thicker counters. [Forum]
- Storm Over Jerusalem (Multi-Man Publishing Preorder)
Storm Over Jerusalem is a card-assisted, area-movement game based on Multi-Man Publishing’s Storm Over series of games (Storm Over Stalingrad, Storm Over Dien Bien Phu, and Storm Over Normandy). It covers the brutal 5-month siege of
Jerusalem in 70CE. Cards augment the game play and increase the tensions and choices faced by each player. [Forum] - Steppe and Sky: A Brief History of Ukraine (Avalanche Press Preorder)
Steppe and Sky: A Brief History of Ukraine is just what the subtitle says, a very short history of Ukraine. It goes for $15, and all of that (minus credit card/paypal processing fees) will go to Catholic Relief Services’ mission assisting Ukrainian refugees in Poland. This isn’t some nebulous “the profits will go to” thing; Avalanche Press will eat the production costs on this one and the staff will do all the editorial work (writing, layout and such) and shipping work unpaid. NEW RELEASES
- Operation Iron Brain (new from High Flying Dice Games)
Operation Iron Brain: The Siege of Beirut, June-August, 1982. For over a year the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) had bombarded Israel’s northern province of Galilee with artillery and rocket fire. On June 6, 1982 the Israeli military invaded southern Lebanon in an operation dubbed “Peace for Galilee”. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) quickly defeated the PLO’s armed forces and drove north. With new orders the IDF crossed the Litani River and drove on Beirut where the remnants of the PLO’s forces were retreating, and where most of their refugee camps were located. What ensued was an escalating conflict that threatened to engulf the entire mid-east once more in conflict and bring Lebanon to the brink of abyss of genocidal civil war. [Forum]
- Equatorial Clash (new from SNAFU Design)
Equatorial Clash is a simulation of the conflict between Ecuador and Perú in July 1941. (Yes, strictly it's not "between the wars", but it's not WW2 either). This small war was the most important clash in the long series of wars, skirmishes and border conflicts between these two countries for the regions that both considered rightfully theirs. The game is centered in the main theatre of operations in the coastal zone. [Forum]
- ATO Magazine, Issue 56: Hitler’s Stalingrad, Breslau 1945 (new from LPS)
The Perry Moore design looks hard at this defiant siege (the city held out AFTER Berlin fell!). With over 300 counters and a 22" x 34" map scaled at about 650 yards per hex, a game turn represents one week. The game captures the flavor of planned, grand assaults quickly degenerating into gritty, street-level fighting, with players alternating conducting operations during the turn. Skillfully positioned reserves and sharp counterattacks can blunt massive thrusts, but at possibly a too frightfully high rate of casualties. Folks are liking the large hex size too! [Forum]
- Battles from the Age of Reason Primer, 2022 Edition (new from Clash of Arms)
For twenty years, the "Battles from the Age of Reason" (BAR) game series has been the ultimate gaming expression of mid-eighteenth century warfare. This BAR Primer can be used with all BAR games and even with older rules sets, but is designed around the Third Edition BAR rules and ownership of Fontenoy is required for use of the "Learning Modules" sections. - Operation Praying Mantis (new from High Flying Dice Games)
Operation Praying Mantis, April 18, 1988. Operation Praying Mantis was the largest US Fleet action since WWII, and helped to finally end the long and costly Iran-Iraq War. This solitaire play game has the active player taking on the role of US forces who must deliver a punishing series of blows to the Iranian forces attempting to interfere with shipping in the Persian Gulf. Can you do as well or better? [Forum]
- Battle’s Shadow: The Battle of Fort Donelson (new from High Flying Dice Games)
- Test of Faith: The Arab-Israeli War of 1973 (new from Compass Games)
Test of Faith: The Arab-Israeli War of 1973 is a new game in the Operational Scale Series using the new added rules from the Doomsday Project to show this war in a way that has not been seen before. Highly playable but with an emphasis on command and equipment, OSS uses an impulse system to create a test and challenging game to play, but also with new research, plenty of historical narrative. - Operation Theseus: Gazala 1942 (new from VUCA Simulations)
Operation Theseus: Gazala 1942 is an operational level simulation of the Gazala battles of 1942, which took place during May and June 1942. The game is intended for two players but is also suitable for solitaire and team play. The goal for the Axis player is to hit the Commonwealth forces hard and to seize specific victory locations, thereby opening the door to Egypt. The Commonwealth player wants to prevent this from happening, thereby eliminating the Axis potential for further offensives. The game is played in a semi-interactive way and keeps both players involved all the time. [Forum]
