Tiny Battle is Hiring
Tiny Battle Publishing is Hiring!
We are looking for a developer. Specifically we are looking for a person who can take what the designer deems to be a completed design, test it, eliminate silly-ass mistakes, such as "Set up on this hex" when "this hex" isn't on the map, or "conduct ranged fire in the Ranged Fire Phase" when there is no such phase (it's called a combat phase) or misspellings, poor grammar or mistakes on the counters or any of a million other things. I'm not looking for someone who tries to redesign a design...at least not unless he or she is a proven designer... even then, we'd doubt I'd buy a design that we didn't like, so we aren't looking for redesigns.
We will pay per game completed.
If you are interested send your resume to mark@tinybattlepublishing.com.

In reply, RicRac
Hi Ricrac,
I totally agree and I apologize. We do make mistakes, but I'm always trying to come up with new ways to eliminate them. I apologize.

Announcing Platoon Commander: Poland Strikes
Pltoon Commander: Poland Strikes Order here: http://tinybattlepublishing.com/products/platoon-commander-poland-strikes When war broke out in the west, both Poland and Hungary were tasked with supplying formations to the Soviet war machine. Neither complied. Instead, with the Soviets busy with the Americans, the Poles turned their attentions south, deciding to settle the score with Hungary after years of escalating tensions along the border. On June 3rd,the settling came as the Polish 166th Tank Regiment crossed the border into Hungary. Poland Strikes is a Mark H. Walker-designed platoon-level, card-assisted World War Three-ish game based on Tiny Battle's Platoon Commander system. Included are the latest version of the Platoon Commander rules (V1.5), streamlining and clarifying an already player-friendly system, and upgraded art with beautiful maps and those little soldiers on the infantry counters (You know you love 'em.). The game has three nail-biting scenarios, 18 Action Cards to throw excitement and uncertainty into each playing, 88 colorful counters and a 17" x 11" playing map representing the Poland-Hungary border. The scenarios range from Polish Motor Rifle units--led by BMPs, OT-64,infantry and Sagger teams--assaulting border crossings, to massive armor battles pitting dozens of Polish T-72s against aging Hungarian T-55s and T-34/85s and even a handful of T-72s. It's a cold-war-goes-hot tactical combat blast from our Madonna-rich past. If you like tanks, dice, and fun, you'll love Poland Strikes.

How is the border handled in this game Mark? Back in the Warsaw Pact era Poland and Hungary didn't share a border. They still don't. Does the alt history that goes with the game explain that?
The non-contiguity was due to Czechoslovakia.

Mark, is this significantly different from the original game that came out a year+ back (that I've already printed and played?) My gaming dollars are tight enough that i can't afford to be purchasing 'upgrades' of games that I already own from that recently.
Interesting counter art, although the first glance makes it look like you simply didn't finish the die-cutting..... I would say that being so 'tight' to the actual outer edge, your die-cutting will need to be perfect to avoid a lot of problems with those edge colors.

The non-contiguity was due to Czechoslovakia. Yes, the Poles first pushed through the eastern portion of Czechoslovakia.

Interesting counter art, although the first glance makes it look like you simply didn't finish the die-cutting..... I would say that being so 'tight' to the actual outer edge, your die-cutting will need to be perfect to avoid a lot of problems with those edge colors. Thanks, Rick. It IS new, fresh, and evocative. I love the style. You can see the differences in the game here: http://tinybattlepublishing.com/products/platoon-commander-poland-strikes Basically the rules have been improved, errata incorporated, and the art redone. That said, I'm going to post the revised rules for free download, so unless you want the new art, I won't buy this.

Well, if the game is available as a P&P download, I might still take the plunge. Gotta support all these Tiny Publishers!!!

Great interview, Brant and Mark! And thanks for the very kind mentions. We'll do our best to help make 2017 a banner year for TBP and FPG.

Platoon Commander: Korea 1950
Finally getting to these games and I have a question about Platoon Commander: Korea 1950. It might also apply to the other games that share these rules, but I only have this one. I am not even sure this is the right place to ask.
To get the Flanking Fire Bonus do both firing units have to be part of the same Fire or can a subsequent fire at the same target "generate" the bonus condition?

Do Units Block LOS in Platoon Leader?
The answer might be there, but I cannot find it. If the answer is in the rules and I missed it I am sorry. I see references to the TEC listing whether terrain blocks LOS and I see where certain terrain blocks LOS, but I cannot find any mention of units on the TEC. I am currently assuming units DO block LOS (being platoons an all).

Subsequent fire qualifies and units do not block LOS.

We Happy Few - Agincourt, Shields & Swords Series #1 - Tiny Battle Publishing
This is the print and play version ready to go. The chart on the top left is from the rules. The sheet at bottom left is my own play aid for things I will probably forget

Our Royal Bones, Bouvines 1214 - Tiny Battle Publishing
This is the print-and-play version ready to go. The counters are foamies and everything is inside a poster frame.
This setup is kind of neat for solo players as well. Play a whole game from each side, or even better rotate the map when playing the other side. A different view really enhances the game :)

Jeff, Great job with the Print 'N Play.
(I avoid PNP due to "making counters" phobia...)
